While browsing FB, I came across Birchbox ads and kept
seeing them on many of the websites I visited. So, around my birthday, I subscribed to both Birchbox and Ipsy
($10 per month for each). I will be receiving my first Birchbox for the month
of April but have to wait till May for my first Ipsy bag. Okay, so pros and
cons right off the bat:
Birchbox:
- easy to use website
- no wait lists
- got to subscribe for the April box
Ipsy:
- must “like” and “share” on FB to get off the wait list
- there is a wait list
- subscribed in April but have to wait till May for my first glam bag
Ipsy, you aren’t looking too good my friend. In addition to
the Birchbox pros, I initially subscribed with the wrong email address (I
thought there was just a bad connection because I decided to do this at a
Starbucks while studying), then resubscribed thinking it hadn’t gone through.
I had originally wanted 3 subscriptions (I like the number
3), but unfortunately I could not subscribe to Beauty Box 5 or Sample Society
because they do not ship to Hawai`i (boo…). These were the ones that were highly recommended and seemed like I would enjoy their products. I did most of my research on My
Subscription Addiction.
So I decided I would subscribe to each for a minimum of 6 months and decide which one will stay and which one will get the axe. We shall see...

per season, I paid $39.99 for my first box using the code SUMMER10) is a
seasonal subscription box that ships once a season (usually on the 30th
of March, June, September, and December). The first box I will be receiving and reviewing is the Summer 2014 Box.
